When it comes to social media marketing, it pays to stand out. That’s valuable advice coming from Ali Mahmoudi, a 2022 Royal LePage Top 35 under 35 award winner, who has amassed a loyal following on social media thanks to his interactive, eye-catching videos.

We spoke with Ali to discuss his advice for agents looking to level up their social media marketing, and asked him for his best tips for agents who are just starting out. Here’s our conversation:

What advice would you share with your peers to help them attain a higher level of success?

Provide as much value as you can during every interaction you have, whether you’re speaking with a current or potential client. Know your market, do your research and continuously grow your database. It’s important to find one area that you are good at (for example, social media) and continue working on it to make an impression and reach new clients.

You often leverage social media to enhance your business. How do you differentiate yourself from the competition online?

I take marketing very seriously in my business. When it comes to marketing my listings, I invest in professional, high-quality photography and cinematic video experiences to showcase the calibre of the homes I’m selling. I leverage the same techniques on my social media channels, using the same cinematic-style videos to stand out from the crowd.

The key to social media is to be consistent. Find a niche that can define your brand and stick with it. Personally, I have a passion for architecture, so I often post interesting building designs when I’m looking  for content to post.
