Congratulations on being named Royal LePage’s Manager of the Year! That’s an outstanding accomplishment. What does achieving this award mean to you both personally and professionally? 

Receiving recognition from an organization as reputable as Royal LePage is truly an honour. I’ve had the chance to connect with some incredible managers from coast to coast, and I’m grateful for all the wisdom they’ve shared with me. It’s important to acknowledge that this award isn’t mine alone; it’s a team effort! Our amazing leadership team and the entire staff really band together to create a supportive environment. That collaborative spirit and commitment to backing our agents are what make both my success and the success of our brokerage possible. We’re all in this together!

What strategies do you use to motivate and support your team to succeed?

At Royal LePage Burloak, we’ve really embraced a “work hard, play hard” attitude that’s grown over the years. We aim to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every team member feels like they belong. As Managing Broker, I’m passionate about supporting our staff and agents through strong leadership, ongoing training, and being available when they need me.

I’m also big on open communication. Whether it’s sharing new ideas, asking for help, or bringing up concerns, I want everyone to feel comfortable coming forward. I know motivation looks different for each person, so I make it a point to celebrate our team’s wins and provide positive feedback regularly. It’s important to me that our agents and staff feel recognized for all of their hard work!

It must feel rewarding to foster an environment where everyone feels empowered to grow. How do you juggle supporting your agents and team while also keeping the brokerage’s goals on track?

We truly pride ourselves on the quality of real estate services we offer, not just to our sales representatives but also to their clients. It’s all about creating an environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to do their best work.

Finding that sweet spot between meeting our agents’ needs and achieving our brokerage’s goals is key, and requires a thoughtful, strategic approach. We understand that happy agents lead to satisfied clients, which is why we focus on the well-being of our sales team alongside our business goals.

It sounds like you have a great handle on creating a supportive atmosphere. What tools and systems do you lean on to manage your brokerage effectively?

We’re all about empowering our sales representatives with top-notch training, cutting-edge technology, and the tools they need to give their clients the best experience possible. Our offices are staffed with an experienced, friendly and professional administrative team to ensure that support is just a call away, seven days a week.

We believe staying connected is key, so we keep our agents in the loop with regular updates. Whether it’s our weekly e-newsletters, monthly power hours or quarterly sales meetings, we make sure everyone is informed about important regulatory changes, upcoming training sessions, events, and the latest buzz in the industry. We want to make sure our agents feel supported and ready to succeed.

What are you doing to stay ahead of the curve and how are you helping your agents prepare for changes in an ever-evolving industry?
