One of Royal LePage®’s 2023 Rookies of the Year, Arian Neyestani, shares his advice for up-and-coming agents.
In an industry where long hours and relentless hustle are often celebrated, Royal LePage® agent and 2023 British Columbia Rookie of the Year, Arian Neyestani, has a different approach – one that’s as refreshing as it is effective.
With over 20 successful sales in his first year during a slower market, Arian has cracked the code to rapid success: work smarter, not harder. Instead of burning out from a never ending to-do list, Arian has built a successful career by focusing on efficiency, innovation and strategy.
We sat down with Arian to uncover the secrets behind his standout success, from lead generation tips to personal milestones that have shaped his professional journey.
As a Rookie of the Year, what advice would you share with an agent looking to build a successful and meaningful career in real estate?
My number one piece of advice? Don’t just work hard, work smart. It’s tempting to get caught up in the grind, thinking more hours equals more success. But trust me, it’s not always about the number of hours you put in; it’s about how effectively you use them. Early on, I learned to be strategic. What are the tasks that actually move the needle? Focus on those and put the rest aside. Your time is your most valuable resource, so use it wisely. Work smarter, not harder – it’s a game changer.
It sounds like an incredibly effective philosophy! In saying that, can you describe your lead generation and management strategies?
For me, it’s all about social media and referrals. Social media lets me connect with people in a way that feels natural and real, and it’s a powerful tool for building trust before someone even contacts you. I’m always sharing insights, market updates, and a bit of my personality. People like knowing the person behind the brand. As for referrals, they’re golden. When you do right by your clients, they’re going to tell their friends and family. I make it easy for them to send people my way, and it’s been a big part of my growth.
What productivity tools have you leaned on to navigate rapid success early on in your career?
Being innovative with my tools and advertising has been crucial. I quickly realized that sticking to traditional methods wasn’t going to cut it. So, I explored different types of advertising like social media, local events, even sponsoring community initiatives. I also automated as many tasks as I could. Using systems that handle the behind-the-scenes admin work frees up my time to focus on building and nurturing client relationships. It’s all about finding tools that give you more time back and better results.
If you were chatting with an agent from a competing brand, what are the top three points you would highlight for choosing Royal LePage?
Support, training and the sheer number of other agents in the network. Royal LePage has an incredible support network. Whether you need help with marketing, negotiations, or just advice, there’s always someone willing to lend a hand. The training is next level, too. They really invest in making sure you’re at the top of your game, and that’s priceless. And, being part of such a large and reputable brand opens more doors. People are familiar with Royal LePage, which tends to give you a leg up from the start.
Tell us about your best day as a REALTOR® so far.
My second deal was one of those unforgettable moments. We spent four months searching, submitted seven offers and kept hitting roadblocks. But, when we finally got the keys to their dream home, it was magic. That day reminded me why I got into real estate in the first place. Seeing the joy on my clients faces made all the challenges worth it. It wasn’t the easiest path, but that’s what makes those victories so sweet.
