The Thunder Bay Basketeers and Royal LePage Lannon Realty are pleased to announce the donation of 126 baskets valued at over $30,000 in kind to the Faye Peterson House and Beendigen women’s shelters. This annual fundraiser, which has been in place since 2010, provides support to women who are rebuilding their lives after experiencing domestic violence.
Coordinator Christine Lannon, broker at Royal LePage Lannon Realty and a team of dedicated volunteers, including fellow broker Wendy Siltamaki and her daughter-in-law Victoria Siltamaki, spent countless hours collecting and organizing donations and building the baskets, which were distributed to women in advance of the holiday season. Baskets which are filled with essential items such as toiletries, clothing, and household supplies, offer comfort and support to those seeking safety and security.
The Basketeers would like to recognize the dedication of their annual basket donors/supporters, including Becky Forester, broker at Royal LePage Lannon Realty, and Katie McGowen, owner of Parlor Hair Boutique, for raising over $5,000 for this cause. The organization also thanks AMJ Campbell Van Lines and Canadian Tire at the Thunder Centre for their sponsorship.
“We are grateful for the support of the Thunder Bay Basketeers and Royal LePage Lannon Realty,” said Tasha Hyatt, representative for Faye Peterson House. “These baskets make a real difference in the lives of the women and children we serve, and we are truly thankful for the generosity of the community of Thunder Bay, and the Royal LePage Lannon Realty team.”
The Thunder Bay Basketeers, a non-profit organization founded in 2010, works to provide support and assistance to women escaping domestic abuse in the Thunder Bay community. Royal LePage Lannon Realty, a leading real estate brokerage in the region, is proud to support the Basketeers and their efforts to make a positive impact in the community.
