The Royal LePage® Shelter Foundation™ is delighted to announce $466,000 was raised at the 2024 Royal LePage® National Sales Conference in Calgary!
Following a new format this year, a full day of the conference – aptly named ‘SHELTERpalooza’ – was dedicated entirely to fundraising events in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. From sunup to sunset, delegates had the opportunity to take part in events that included:

- Alberta off-road experience, hosted by the Ken Morris Team
- Purses and Playlist bingo, hosted by Carlie Smith, Lindsay Reid and Melanie Lafrenière
- Pickleball tournament, hosted by Louise Sabino and Beth Rezoski
- Nordic spa day, hosted by Josh Marek and Dean Robertson
- Foodie tour, hosted by Avenues to Acreages
- Poker tournament, hosted by Doug Thompson and Bottom Line University
- East Coast Kitchen Party, hosted by Jerry Aulenbach, Natosha Wareham-Bakker and Rebecca Bezanson
- Brews and BBQ lunch, hosted by Andrew Van Pelt

- East vs. West Shelter Classic, hosted by Ken Barrick, Liam Poirier, Dale Temple and Brad Kopp
In addition to fundraising event revenue, several agents including Mike Harvey, Ken Hrubeniuk, Sarah Mackenzie and Anna Russell sold specialty goods to raise funds for the cause. Adding further to the impressive total raised was the annual Ride for Shelter motorcycle event that kicked off the conference as well as a donation campaign spearheaded by the Royal LePage ‘35 Under 35’s’.
Always a jewel on the conference agenda, the Shelter Lunch and Auction shone brightly this year, led by incomparable auctioneer, Kent Browne. In just under two hours, more than $238,000 was raised, including $53,500 in bids and matching donations for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation’s famous Faux Fur Coat which will be traveling across the country this year in the hands of buyers Shayla Ackerman, Jonathan Benedict, Sean Broady, Royce Finley, Marie French, Kimberly Holmes, Tim Somerville, Gillian Stewart and Shea Warrington.
Last but certainly not least, more than 50 agents answered the call to become Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Commission Donors during the conference, which means that women and children in their communities will benefit each and every time they help a client buy or sell a home.
“It’s difficult to articulate in words the depth of gratitude we feel for every single Royal LePager who helped make this conference such an epic fundraising success,” said Lisa Gibbs, executive director, Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. “The generosity of our family of supporters is truly unmatched and we couldn’t be more proud or grateful for each and every delegate who has shown that they want to play a part in ending intimate partner violence in Canada.”
