At Royal LePage®, we take pride in recognizing the outstanding contributions of those in our network, not only for their professional achievements, but also for their dedication to the communities they serve. Today, we are proud to recognize Jason Wheeldon, one of our top 1% REALTORS® from Royal LePage® East Kootenay Realty, who was recently awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of his decades-long commitment to volunteerism and community service in Cranbrook, British Columbia.
A life of service
On September 9th, Kootenay MP Rob Morrison presented medals and certificates at his constituency office to a number of upstanding citizens. Jason was presented with the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal, a testament to his unwavering dedication to making Cranbrook a better place to live. For over 30 years, Jason has played an integral role in making his community a safe and welcoming place to live through his dedication to numerous local initiatives, including the annual Turkey Drive, which raises essential funds for the Cranbrook Food Bank and the Salvation Army. His involvement extends to organizations such as the Kinsmen Club, Big Brothers and Sisters, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Cranbrook Youth Ambassador Program.
Reflecting on his journey, Jason shared: “It all began back in 1993 when I became a Big Brother and chaired the Kin Clubs’ March of Dimes fundraiser. Since then, I’ve had the privilege to work on many meaningful projects, like co-founding the Cranbrook Chamber Turkey Drive, which continues to support those in need. The growth of this initiative has been incredible, and it’s a true community effort that humbles me every year.”
Jason’s leadership and community spirit are evident by the countless projects he supports, from building local parks as a charter member of the Sunrise Rotary Club to coaching youth sports and organizing local festivals. Even in more playful fundraisers, like the memorable “Kiss the Pig” contest to raise funds for the local animal rescue society, Jason’s commitment to his community shines through.
A family effort
While Jason has certainly been at the forefront of community service, he credits much of his success to his family. Alongside his wife, who created a backpack food program for local schools, Jason has worked tirelessly to support the causes close to their hearts. Their dedication to Cranbrook has not only strengthened the community, but has also served as a powerful example for their two daughters.
“After 30 years, this recognition means a great deal, but it’s something I share with my wife, who has been my partner through it all. Together, we’ve always believed that our community grows stronger when people come together,” Jason added.
A leader in real estate and community
Born and raised in the East Kootenay region, Jason began his career as a REALTOR® in 1994, quickly establishing himself as a successful and highly-productive real estate professional in Canada. With a deep understanding of the Cranbrook real estate market, Jason’s work has helped countless families find their dream homes while ensuring sellers get the best results. His professionalism, dedication and industry knowledge have given him a reputation as a trusted and highly respected agent, earning him a spot in Royal LePage’s prestigious National Chairman’s ClubTM.
Jason Wheeldon being awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal serves as a reminder of the positive impact one individual can have on an entire community. This is another great example of how our Royal LePage agents embody the phrase ‘Helping You is What We DoTM’ at every opportunity. We are incredibly proud to have Jason as part of our company, and we celebrate his accomplishments both as a leading real estate agent and as a pillar of the Cranbrook community.
