Top 35 Under 35 award winner Kyla Mulder reflects on her commitment to community and her passion for the home-building and selling process
We asked our Royal LePage Top 35 Under 35 award winners to share their best advice with agents who are looking for tips on how to be more successful. Here’s what Kyla had to say!
There is no better feeling than sharing the excitement of a client who is ready to start a new chapter of their life. For Kyla Mulder, a 2022 Royal LePage Top 35 Under 35 award winner, the experience of helping clients find the home of their dreams is bolstered by her passion for the small community in which she lives and works.
This marks Kyla’s third consecutive year receiving the Top 35 under 35 award. We asked her to tell us about her passion for community, new developments, and her best advice for agents on the lookout for more inspiration. Here’s our conversation:
What motivates you as an agent and where does your inspiration come from?
Real estate is a family business in some ways. Both my husband and father are developers and licensed builders, and I love being a part of the whole home-building and selling process. My three kids are also a main source of inspiration!
My business is based in Vernon, British Columbia. The Okanagan Valley and surrounding region is a small community with so much to offer, from our amazing lakes to fantastic ski hills. I love being a community cheerleader and helping my clients live a life by design in this fantastic oasis.
What advice would you share with your peers to help them attain a high level of success?
I think treating others the way you would like to be treated is so important in this industry, especially when it comes to interactions with your fellow agents. Kindness goes a long way in this industry and collaboration is key.
When it comes to client interactions, try to be as prompt and responsive as possible. I have a rule: always answer your phone! You never know what opportunity could be on the other end.
Tell us about your best day as an agent!
In 2017, I had the opportunity to market and sell a 28-unit development. I got to be a part of the design of the complex, from the floor plans to the final finishes. During Phase 1 we had such high demand that we had to create a wait list for the second phase. The day Phase 2 was released, I received eight unconditional offers. I met amazing people that were excited to start the next chapter of their lives in their new homes, and being part of the building process was extra special.
