Thanks to the support of her generous community, Heather Lemieux, sales representative with Royal LePage Connect Realty in Scarborough, ON collected 103 shoeboxes filled with small luxuries and goodies for women spending the holiday season in a shelter or continuing to access supports and services after transitioning out of a shelter. All boxes were donated to Julliette’s Place, which serves women and children seeking safety from domestic violence.
“Heather’s Shoebox for Shelter initiative is a wonderful way for women in the shelter system to feel seen and cared for by their neighbors over the holiday season,” said Carly Neill, fundraising and communication manager with the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. “It’s amazing how uplifting it can be for a woman to receive a lovely package of treats and a note that tells her she’s not alone during her most difficult days.”
