Over the course of just two hours, the Furter Real Estate Team with Royal LePage ProAlliance Realty in Kingston, ON raised $3,500 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation at their inaugural fundraising dinner. 100 per cent of proceeds were directed to Kingston Interval House, a local agency that provides 24-hour safe emergency shelter, community-based counselling services and second stage Housing to women, youth and children who have experienced violence.
Through the generous donations of local business owners to the silent auction, support from their clients and the community, and their partnership with Boston Pizza in Kingston, the Furter Real Estate Team created much needed awareness in their community while nearly doubling their original fundraising goal.
Nikki Beaulieu, fund development manager with Kingston Interval House addressed the ninety attendees and shared how greatly the funds being raised were needed – especially at this time of year – and thanked the crowd for their generous support and the Furter Real Estate Team for spearheading this successful fundraising event.
“We are so lucky to spend each day helping clients buy and sell homes to achieve their goals and start new chapters in their lives,” said Jane Furter, broker/team lead. “Giving back and paying it forward is one of our Team’s core values. We believe everyone has an obligation to support their community and that a home should be a safe place for everyone. We are truly passionate about our support of this important cause.”
