Halifax-based REALTOR® Stacey Falkwin built a purpose-driven team, transformed her business, and embraced leadership without losing sight of what matters most.

Stacey Falkwin’s real estate journey began the way many great stories do, with a fixer-upper and a bold leap of faith.
At just 21 years old, she purchased her first renovation project. After several similar projects, her passion for transforming spaces evolved into a mission: helping others build wealth through real estate while creating meaningful connections along the way.
Fast forward to today, and Stacey is named the 2024 A.E. LePage REALTOR® of the YearTM award for the East Coast, an honour that reflects not only her professional accomplishments, but the values, leadership, and impact she brings to her team, clients, and community.
“My motivation has never just been about success in business,” Stacey says. “It’s about the impact I can make, whether that’s helping a client, mentoring someone on my team, or giving back to causes I care about.”
Letting go to grow
The turning point in Stacey’s career wasn’t a single deal or market shift –it was a mindset change.
“For years, I was doing it all,” she recalls. “Every detail, every transaction, every late-night email; I was successful, but it came at the cost of my own happiness.”
The shift came when Stacey decided to build a team, something she now considers the best decision she’s ever made. By bringing in people with complementary strengths and shared values, she not only expanded her business capacity but rekindled her joy for the work.
“Everyone has a genius,” she explains. “When you let people do what they’re great at and what they love to do, you build something far more powerful than you ever could on your own.”
From solopreneur to purpose-driven leader
Today, Stacey spends 75% of her time in a leadership role, guiding her team and mentoring others in the industry. She limits herself to 20 listing transactions per year to allow time for strategic oversight and work-life balance.
Time blocking, delegation, and thoughtful use of tools like Trello help her stay focused and organized. Standout administrators support the backend so Stacey can stay present where it counts most.
“Delegating isn’t stepping back; it’s stepping into the work that truly needs your touch”
A culture of communication and connection
One of the practices Stacey has implemented across her business is DISC personality profiling, a tool that’s become essential in how her team connects, collaborates, and supports one another.
“Everything changed when I started paying attention to how people naturally think, communicate, and make decisions,” she says. “We use DISC profiling with every team member and client which allows us to appreciate everyone’s different strengths and communication styles.”
The result? A culture built on trust, mutual respect, and a bond that runs deeper than just work. It’s helped create a team that shows up for each other with clarity and compassion.
This people-first approach extends to her client work. The Falkwin Group focuses heavily on nurturing their database, building trust through personalized, value-driven communication. More than 80% of their business comes from past clients or referrals.
Rooted in community, backed by purpose
Giving back has always been part of the team’s approach. Stacey and her team support local and national initiatives, including the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, and are continually seeking meaningful ways to contribute to the communities they serve.
“The impact of the Royal LePage® Shelter FoundationTM is felt across the country,” she says. “As an all-female team, we’re proud to play a role in helping women and children find safety and stability.”
A future built on integrity and innovation
While she keeps her focus on the present, Stacey is always looking ahead. She invests in education, stays connected with other industry leaders, and is interested in the ways technology, especially AI, can enhance the real estate experience without replacing the human touch.
Her approach to social media is similarly intentional: less about chasing trends, more about staying connected to her community.
“I use it for brand awareness and connection,” she says. “It’s about keeping people in the loop, not trying to go viral.”
For REALTORS® looking for more than a transaction
If there’s one message Stacey hopes to share with others in the industry, it’s that you don’t have to choose between success and sustainability.
“Royal LePage has been the kind of place where I’ve felt supported to grow, lead, and stay true to myself,” she says. “There’s a real sense of community here, and that makes all the difference.”
