How resilience, authenticity and community involvement helped this Cold Lake agent build a thriving business and earn one of Royal LePage®’s highest honours.

With over a decade of experience in real estate, Megan Juszczyk has established herself as a leader in her market, blending her background in marketing and communications with a deep passion for helping people find a place to call their home.

Her dedication to client-first service, community impact and brand leadership earned her the prestigious A.E. LePage REALTOR® of the Year award for the Prairies, a recognition given to Royal LePage’s top-performing agents based on productivity, leadership and philanthropy.

In this interview, Megan shares her career journey, the biggest lessons she’s learned, and the mindset that continues to fuel her success. Here’s what she had to say:

What inspired you to pursue a career in real estate, and how has your motivation evolved?

I had an incredible experience buying my first home, and it sparked my curiosity about real estate. Leaving a decade-long career in marketing was a leap, but without a doubt it was the best decision I ever made. More than 10 years later, I still wake up excited to go to work, and my passion for this industry only continues to grow every day.

How do you incorporate philanthropy into your business?

Giving back is a core part of what I do. My team is actively involved in community fundraisers, local sports sponsorships and charitable initiatives. I’m a strong supporter of the Royal LePage® Shelter FoundationTM and our local Stepping Stones Crisis Centre, where I donate a portion of every commission. I also launched 100 Cold Lakers Who Care, uniting 100 people to donate $100, proving that small contributions can create a massive impact.

What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far, and how did you overcome it?

I started my real estate career in the middle of a market crash, with no client base, a one-year-old at home, and another baby on the way. I had every reason to quit – but instead, I doubled down, worked harder, and found creative ways to stand out which included being the first agent in our market to provide professional photos; helped seasoned agents with their listings to gain experience and increasing my exposure to the community through hosting open houses and advertising online; increasing my profile on various  social media platforms and growing my following to become one of  the most followed real estate page in the area; and essentially ensuring I was always at work – making it my mission to come to the office every day even when I felt I had nothing to do – using the downtime to research untapped and new methods to help my clients and grow my business.. Those first two years were make-or-break, but they shaped me into the professional I am today.

What’s one habit you practice that has made the biggest impact on your success?

Staying authentic and client-focused. I work hard for every deal, own my mistakes and always put my clients first. The moment an agent puts themselves over their clients is the moment they start to fail. Authenticity and a genuine commitment to your clients’ needs are the foundation of lasting success. When people feel truly cared for, they don’t just come back, they become your biggest advocates. Prioritizing your clients will always pay off.

How do you stay focused and organized during busy periods?

For me, constant communication is everything. With a small team of two agents and one part-time administrator, we rely on checklists, structured meetings and collaboration tools to ensure nothing slips through the cracks. At our busiest, we carried nearly 100 listings, and strong communication was the key to delivering an exceptional client experience during that time.

Which Royal LePage tools or training have been most valuable to you and your business?

Being part of the National Chairman’s Club has been a catalyst for my personal and professional growth. The conferences, retreats and collaboration with top agents have shaped my business in ways I never imagined. Royal LePage’s culture of support, innovation and leadership is unmatched, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.

What’s your approach to finding and nurturing leads?

Quick communication and a one-on-one approach. Every lead should feel like they’re my only client. My business partner and I operate with the same mindset, so whether I follow up or she does, the client experience remains seamless. That personal touch has helped us convert leads into long-term relationships.

How do you use social media as a business tool?

We take a people-first approach. We don’t just post listings, we share who we are, because people want to work with someone they connect with. We also track trends in other markets and look for gaps – things no one else is doing in our area. Staying ahead of the curve helps us stand out.

What marketing strategies have worked best for you?

One of my most successful campaigns was the Military Relocation Guide. Instead of just creating it, I reached out to the military community and asked them what they needed most. Their feedback shaped the guide, and the engagement was incredible. It positioned me as a trusted resource in a key niche market.

What does winning the A.E. LePage REALTOR® of the Year award mean to you?

This award is one of the greatest honours of my career. Looking at past winners, I see leaders I admire – but I never expected to be among them. At the end of the day, real estate isn’t just about selling houses – it’s about making a difference. Receiving this recognition only fuels my drive to be an even better agent, community leader and advocate for my clients and for Royal LePage.
