We are pleased to announce that Royal LePage Baird Real Estate, owned by Laurie Baird has joined the Royal LePage network, effective August 23, 2019.  Laurie is flanked by her husband Derek Baird, whom she affectionately refers to as her “top salesperson.”  Together, with Broker of Record Jennifer Caruk, they manage and operate a family-run business of 20 sales people within the Durham region, formerly known as MinCom Millennium Realty Inc.

Derek and Laurie Baird

Laurie and Derek follow a long family history within the real estate business starting with Derek’s grandfather who practiced in Toronto’s Rosedale area some 80 years ago.  They launched their own real estate careers back in the late 1980s and opened their first brokerage in 1993 under the MinCom brand.. “Laurie and I have survived 31 years together in real estate throughout our 34 years of marriage,” quipped Derek, adding this a measure of commitment to their trade.
“After investigating many brokerages, we determined that Royal LePage is the best fit for us,” says Laurie. “We are a family-oriented firm with brothers and sisters and grown children all cutting their real estate teeth with us.” The goal now for Royal LePage Baird Real Estate is to harness the young energy emerging within their brokerage to attract new recruits.
The Bairds plan to optimize usage of the Royal LePage offering by assigning a specialist within their office for each category of the tools and services offered to them. “Those individuals will liaise with their colleagues as well as our representatives at Royal LePage Canada,” says Laurie.  “The stable of tools that Royal LePage offers is a really big thing for us,” adds Derek.
Royal LePage Baird services all of Durham, including Bowmanville, Courtice, Oshawa, Whitby, Brooklin, Ashburn, Ajax, Pickering, Port Hope, Cobourg and Port Perry. They specialize in residential development, working with a number of builders throughout the region.
