After a two-year COVID-19 hiatus, the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation was delighted to welcome players back to their 5th annual Texas Hold’em Charity Poker event on June 21 in Toronto.
Held downtown at the Bottom Line bar, a room of players participated in the fun and friendly tournament, raising $29,000 for the cause. Since Royal LePage Canada covers the administrative costs of the Foundation, 100 per cent of proceeds will support programs that help women rebuild their lives free from abuse and help teenagers learn how to build healthy, safe and respectful relationships.
The evening’s big winners, taking home gift cards to Apple, Canadian Tire and SportChek, were Mike Stevens (guest of Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services), Rodrigo Pinto (Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd.) and Damon Conrad (Royal LePage Commercial).
“Just feeling the buzz of a room full of some of our most dedicated supporters was amazing, but the fundraising success made the evening all the more amazing,” said Royal LePage Shelter Foundation executive director, Lisa Gibbs. “The generosity of our guests was on full display all night long. While all players hoped to be crowned a winner, it was clear that the Shelter Foundation coming away as the ultimate winner was everyone’s top priority!”
