Belly dancers entertain the crowd at the ‘Night in Morocco’ fundraising event

Four Royal LePage professionals in Calgary have raised $16,652 to make a difference for local women and children affected by family violence.
Marta Raczkowska, with Royal LePage Solutions and Wayne Nelson, Chris Pitman and Dave Shulz, all with Royal LePage Benchmark, teamed up to host a ‘Night in Morocco’ fundraising event.
150 guests were treated to a traditional Moroccan meal catered by the University of Calgary and tea service and décor provided by the local Moroccan community. A belly dancing performance had many inspired to give the moves a try, while silent and live auctions contributed to the impressive total raised.
The evening’s theme was a nod to the group’s participation in the upcoming Sahara Desert Challenge for Shelter. In November, 120 Royal LePage professionals will hike 100 km across the Sahara Desert. To be eligible to participate, each trekker must raise at least $5,000 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

“We feel honoured to have received such wonderful support from our Royal LePage brokerages, fellow agents, family, friends and community,” said Raczkowska.
The group is excitedly planning their next fundraising event in support of the Sahara Challenge for Shelter. They plan to organize a ‘Walk to Lake Louise’ from June 3 – 8.
