It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Kenneth Shearer on May 29, 2026.
Ken leaves behind a lasting legacy within Royal LePage® and the Alberta real estate industry. A respected leader, mentor and advocate for the profession, he played an important role in shaping organized real estate in the province, serving as president of both the Edmonton Real Estate Board and the Alberta Real Estate Association.
Within the Royal LePage network, Ken served as Provincial Corporate Executive for Alberta before transitioning to franchise ownership in Edmonton, where he led Royal LePage® Noralta Realty. Under his leadership, the brokerage became one of Northern Alberta’s premier real estate organizations.
Throughout his career, Ken was widely respected for his leadership, generosity and dedication to helping others succeed. His influence extended far beyond his own business, leaving a meaningful impact on colleagues, industry professionals and the communities he served.
“I was incredibly fortunate to work with Ken, before the end of his impressive career in real estate,” said Jim Morris, Director, Business Development (Western Canada). “His leadership, integrity and dedication to supporting others helped shape Royal LePage Noralta Realty into one of Western Canada’s strongest real estate businesses. Ken’s impact on our industry was immense, and his legacy will continue through his family, the brokerage he built and the many people he mentored along the way.”
On behalf of everyone at Royal LePage, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Gailene, and his children Tom, Patrick and Bill, and the entire Shearer family, as well as his colleagues and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
