The Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) has awarded its annual Community Service Award to Jennifer Burton of Royal LePage Estate Realty.
Jennifer is a tireless volunteer and supporter of a variety of important charitable and community initiatives within her Toronto Beaches community. Since 2005, she and her brokerage have raised more $330,000 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. Funds raised have benefited the community through the Woodgreen Red Door Family Shelter and Scarborough Women’s Centre, serving to provide refuge and support for women and children escaping domestic violence.
Jennifer’s strong leadership has inspired the support of her brokerage’s REALTORS®. Together, they have made a difference. Royal LePage Estate Realty has hosted a variety of fundraisers including the National Garage Sale for Shelter and golf tournaments. And, the brokerage’s agents make ongoing donations from their sales commissions to combat domestic violence. Jennifer is also an an active volunteer as a member of the annual Shelter Gala committee, which raises important funds for domestic violence prevention programs. Her support has helped the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation raise more the $27 million since its inception in 1998.

The Beaches Jazz Festival serves as a cornerstone event within the Beaches community and is a popular event for all Torontonians. Over the past 15 years, Jennifer and Royal LePage Estate Realty have provided cash sponsorship for this well-loved event and hosted the Band Project Phoenix outside their office during the festival. Their support and high profile during the festival serves as a fabulous touchpoint for her brokerage’s agents and the community.
Another annual initiative, which takes place during the holiday season, is a toy drive for the Red Door Shelter. This is accompanied with an annual contribution of $5,000 to Community Centre 55 for community members in need at a crucial time of year. In addition, Jennifer and her spouse and business partner, Keith Burton, volunteer as summer camp counsellors at Camp Oochigeas, known as ‘a place where kids with cancer can just be kids.’
