The annually-awarded Women in Business Awards recognize the contributions by women to the Niagara region
Margie Spence, president of Royal LePage Niagara Real Estate Centre Inc., was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 17th annual Women in Business Awards, held November 17 at the Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls. Spence’s business leadership over three decades and her charitable work were cited as the contributing factors to the honour.
Spence has built Royal LePage Niagara Real Estate Centre Inc. to the largest real estate brokerage in the region, with a stable of more than 380 agents and 50 employees. The brokerage serves the greater Niagara, Hamilton and Haldimand areas.
Charitable organizations such as Gillian’s Place, South Niagara women’s shelters, Habitat for Humanity, food banks across Niagara, and OneFoundation for Niagara Health System have all benefited from Spence’s tireless philanthropic efforts.
Spence celebrated her achievement alongside more than 40 nominees and award recipients presented by Women in Niagara Council, a business council of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce. The awards highlight the vital contributions by female business leaders to the region’s economy and communities.
